Here at Ken Garff Nissan of Salt Lake City, we care about you, our customer. We want you to be able to get simple car maintenance tasks done to keep your vehicle in the best condition. This video will show you how to check your oil levels to keep your engine in great shape.
Checking your oil is fairly simple. Open your hood and look for the oil dipstick. This can be located in a lot of different places, it all depends on the make of your car. If you aren't sure where it is, you can check your user manual. Once you've found it, pull out the dipstick. Using a paper towel, wipe off the oil. It is easy to do this at a gas station, as they usually have paper towels readily available at the pump. Then, put the dipstick all the way into your vehicle, and then remove it again. Take a look at the indicator marks at the bottom of the dipstick. This will tell you how much oil is currently in your engine. Is it time for an oil change? It's possible to do this at home, and our video about how to change your oil will help.
